The Devils Marbles are huge granite boulders scattered across a wide, shallow valley, 100 kilometres south of Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory. In the Aboriginal mythology the Devils Marbles are the eggs of the rainbow serpent, and many “dreamtime” stories and traditions of Aboriginal people are linked with this area. It has a deep spiritual meaning and the traditional Aboriginal owners of the region regard the marbles as having extraordinary powers.
